WHOW…… ALL THIS SNOW

Most parents can probably remember themselves playing in the snow with a sled, making huge snowballs and building the best snowmen ever, using a carrot from there mum’s fridge as the snowman’s nose, stones as buttons, twigs for the arms and grabbing a hat and scarf to finish. But sledding is one of the most fun wintertime activities a child can do and is great fun for all the family.

Fresh snow brings out the kid in all of us. The mountains and hills and beaches provide plenty of awesome terrain for fans of sledding, tubing, and tobogganing. There are a number of clever snow sleds on the market today that allow everyone from toddlers to adults to enjoy flying across the snow.

Toboggan sleds are long, thin sleds that can fit one or more people. They have a rope on one end so they can be pulled back up a hill or along a snowy yard. A traditional toboggan is made from wood and has runners. A modern toboggan may be made out of plastic.

Baby and toddler sleds are designed for a small child to sit up in while being pulled along in the snow. Quality baby sleds will have a belt to prevent the baby from tumbling out.

Saucer sleds are rumored to be the fastest of downhill sleds. These sleds can be spun before they are pushed down the hill for a fast, exciting ride.
